Elegant Garden Wedding | Emma and Brandon
Emma and Brandon gathered their closest friends and family at Brandon’s lovely family home for an intimate, faith-focused ceremony filled with personal touches
Dearest Gentle Reader,
Between catching up on the latest season of Bridgerton and editing this gorgeous backyard wedding, my cup runneth over this week! Emma and Brandon gathered their closest friends and family at Brandon’s lovely family home for an intimate, faith-focused ceremony filled with personal touches. The very first thing that caught my eye when we pulled up was a beautiful, bespoke cross archway at the altar of their ceremony site. I quickly learned that Brandon- a man of many talents- had made this cross by hand- and it lights up! He also hand-painted the back of his Bronco, set up all of the lights around the property, and made several other design elements for the reception.
Emma’s beautiful high-collared floral lace gown was a great complement to the garden party setting, and paired with her up-swept hair, vintage jewelry and soft pastel florals, it was the perfect touch of elegance to complete the overall look of their day. One of the wedding trends that I’ve loved seeing lately is that brides are throwing out traditions that don’t resonate with them, and keeping only the ones that feel personally significant. For Emma and Brandon, not having a traditional bridal party allowed them to focus on their faith, their families, and one another throughout their wedding day.
It was impossible to be around these two and not see that they are one another’s perfect match, and their joy was contagious. We wish you guys the absolute best!
Intimate NYC Elopement | Lauren & Austin
We had an absolute blast exploring New York City with Lauren and Austin. From their private vow exchange at 620 Loft and Garden at the Rockefeller Center, to watching the sun set beneath the Manhattan Bridge, this was a day we'll never forget!
“We had the best experience with both Ted and Heather. They flew with us to New York City and traveled around the city capturing amazing photos. I have received so many compliments on our pictures such as "magazine worthy". I am so thankful we chose to hire Ted and Heather to travel with us versus hiring a photographer in NYC. They both made the day even more enjoyable!”
-Lauren and Austin
Being a little bit wedding obsessed, I truly do get excited about every wedding I attend, whether I’m a guest or a vendor. Some weddings just tick EVERY SINGLE box for me, though, and Lauren and Austin’s New York elopement did just that!
Let’s start with the dress- I love all things dark and moody, so when I saw Lauren’s fitted black gown, I literally gasped! There’s something so timeless and elegant to a chic satin sheath silhouette, and it fit the vibes for New York perfectly.
Speaking of New York, I was over the moon to return to one of my favorite cities and to create art there! I love everything- the people, the hustle, the architecture and street art- it all just makes me feel alive! I knew there’d be no shortage of beautiful background scenery, and Peter with Filmcars was the best possible tour guide we could have asked for! Not only did he ferry us around in the coolest vintage yellow NYC taxi, he regaled us with as many tales as he could from his times driving celebrities and working with his vintage cars on film sets, and his knowledge of the city and suggestions on locations to film were absolutely priceless.
We started the day with Lauren and Austin helping each other get ready in their room at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, and made our way to the iconic Rockefeller Center for the couple to exchange private vows at 620 Loft and Gardens, with a breathtaking view of St. Patricks Cathedral and all of 5th Avenue below us. We then joined the couple for a celebratory lunch at Norma’s- a delicious Italian eatery chosen by Lauren because it shares a name with her grandmother. From there, we made our way across the most iconic sights the city has to offer, from Central Park all the way back to Brooklyn for a sunset view of the Manhattan skyline under the Manhattan Bridge. This whole day still feels like an absolute fever dream to me. Even with a little bit of rain, it was absolutely perfect from start to finish, and we’ve got the pictures and video to prove it!
Colorful Bridlewood Wedding | Nicole and Chad
“Ted KILT IT!! By far the MOST creative artistic photographer I have ever seen!!!”
- Nicole and Chad
“Ted KILT IT!! By far the MOST creative artistic photographer I have ever seen!!!”
- Nicole and Chad
Nicole and Chad’s spring wedding at the Barn at Bridlewood was an absolute DREAM… not only are they super nice people, who were open to our ideas and shared our crazy sense of humor, they also had a dream team of vendors making their day absolutely spectacular!
A moment for the FLORALS! Jill Windham is a floral MAGICIAN, and she draped every inch of Bridlewood in the most colorful, whimsical arrangements I’ve ever seen. It reminded me of Alice and Wonderland, interpreted in an upscale way. Nicole’s Martina Liana gown perfectly complemented both her and the decor, and brought alllll of the bridal drama that we love to see!
The cakes and catering by Sweetlicious were out of this world beautiful and delicious. We’re adding them to the growing list of vendors we love to see and work with at weddings!
Mystic Music Productions gets an extra special shoutout- not only were they amazing DJs, but they also went above and beyond to help us get some amazing shots at the end of the night with the use of their smoke machines (see below), and even brought the cold sparklers back out for the couple’s exit photos. When vendors work together to serve their couples’ best interests, everybody wins, and this was a HUGE example of that!
This whole wedding day felt like hanging out with friends, as Nicole and Chad’s family and friends welcomed us and the other vendor teams right on in as one of their own. Ted and I both enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, and the beautiful pictures and video we captured speak for themselves!
Supposey Gardens and Warehouse Wedding | Taylor & John
Pensacola, Florida Wedding
Taylor and John were absolute dream clients for us- not only did they throw a fabulous, fun wedding in a beautiful location, but they also prioritized time in their day to steal away for amazing pictures, so we were over the moon. From the wedding ceremony delivered by Taylor’s brother to the speeches by her dad and maid of honor, it was clear throughout the whole day how much these two are loved, and after spending the day with them, it’s easy to see why. We say all the time that our favorite clients are the ones that feel like friends, and we’re continuously pleasantly surpised by how often that happens.
Supposey is such a gorgeous venue, and their staff was amazing to work with and went above and beyond to help with every aspect of the wedding day- including loading all of us on a golf cart to race to the pier in time to catch the sunset you’ll see below! Their proximity to the beautiful beaches of Pensacola was just a bonus feature for this great venue, the gardens and the warehouse itself offered plenty of photo opportunities without ever leaving the property.
If this was how our fall wedding season for 2023 started, I can’t wait to see where we go from here!
B&A Warehouse Wedding | Michael & Meagan
Gorgeous boho wedding at B&A Warehouse in historic southside Birmingham, AL
I absolutely do not have adequate words to describe the perfection of this couple, their friends and family, this venue, and this entire wedding, but I also can't stop talking about it! From the moment we arrived at B&A Warehouse, we were absolutely stunned by the beautiful, softly filtered overhead light provided by the skylights, the interesting spaces found in every room- our favorite was the Bottle Room, lined with floor to ceiling bookshelves filled with a mind-blowing number of books and bottles- and the warm and welcoming staff who did everything possible to help us make the most of this phenomenal space. The juxtaposition of Stems and Styles' soft, warm boho floral designs with the exposed brick and industrial feel of the warehouse looks incredible in their photos and video. DJ Prez with Superior Sound was a dream to work with and the dance floor was never empty, and Barb's Cakes made me do a little happy dance when I finally got to taste their wedding cake!
The stars of this show were, obviously, Meagan and Michael. Not only are they a beautiful couple, but they're also genuinely kind people who were a blast to hang out with! They put complete and total trust in our vision, and that creative freedom goes a loooong way toward both getting perfect photos AND making us love them even more! Every part of this wedding day was just magical, and these two were the cherry on top.
Michael and Meagan, thank your for your trust in us, and we wish you all the happiness the world has to offer!
Reunion Golf and Country Club | Sarah & Cody
Elegant summer wedding in Madison, MS
When I saw Sarah for the first time, my jaw dropped- she's just THAT pretty. She and Cody are also two of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people I've ever had the pleasure to meet!
We had the absolute best time all day, largely due to a dream team of vendors working together to make everything happen. The ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canton, MS, with the reception at Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, MS. Still Magnolias designed beautiful blue and white floral arrangements and bouquets, and Whipped, LLC made a gorgeous floral wedding cake to match. The real confectionary showstopper was the groom's cake- I actually thought it was really chips and queso at first glance! DJ Adam was the LIFE of the party, engaging guests and bringing everyone to the dance floor, and wedding planner extraordinaire Kim Sharp and her team kept everything moving smoothly behind the scenes.
Sarah and Cody, it was a pleasure to spend the day with you guys and we wish you the best!
Barn at Bridlewood Wedding | Lauren & Austin
Highlight Film and Photos featuring a fun summer wedding at the Barn at Bridlewood in Hattiesburg, MS
Sometimes, you meet a couple and you just click. That's how we felt about Lauren and Austin from our first phone call, and when it came to their wedding day it felt like we were hanging out with friends.
We were at the Barn at Bridlewood in Hattiesburg for the entirety of Lauren and Austin's wedding day- one of my favorite things about this venue is the many options for prep spaces, all on-site. It was an emotional day from the start, as we began with recording the sweet letters they'd written to exchange with one another- letters always get to me!
Details make each wedding day unique, and Lauren had that covered- from Austin's duck feather bow-tie to the name marquee that served as a fantastic backdrop on the dance floor, their wedding day details blew us away.
DJ Don King is always fantastic to work a reception with- he keeps the dance floor full and is great at adjusting timelines on the fly to make sure everything happens smoothly and without interrupting the flow of the party. One new trend that we are seeing more often is the private last dance- at the end of the night, guests lined up outside to prepare for the sparkler exit, while Lauren and Austin enjoyed one last dance together. We absolutely love this- not only is it beautiful in photos and video, but it's also a great chance for the couple to slow down and enjoy dancing together without the pressure of guests watching. It's more intimate and emotional than the first dance, so we like to snap a couple of quick shots and then dip out to let the couple enjoy it in true privacy.
After their sparkler exit, we stole Lauren and Austin away to get some beautiful shots under the live oaks at the ceremony site- the lights in the trees are absolutely stunning at night- and then they drove away in a beautiful vintage Ford Fairlane.
Thank you, Lauren and Austin, for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day, and best wishes to you both!
Houmas House Wedding | McKena & Newlon
Modern summer wedding featuring this adorable couple!
Mckena and Newlon have been high school sweethearts since the 9th grade. Mckena attended the University of Southern Mississippi while Newlon attended Millsaps College. Both college athletes, Mckena was a cheerleader at USM and Newlon played basketball and football. COVID brought this couple even closer together! Before their Senior year in college, Newlon knew it was the perfect time to ask Mckena to spend the rest of their lives together. Newlon is starting medical school in the fall and Mckena is entering the field as a registered nurse. Newlon said "I wanted to make sure we made each other a priority versus fitting one another into the lives we were each creating. I wanted our lives to be built together."
So sweet! Best wishes guys and thanks for letting us be a part of your day!
Bay St. Louis Community Hall Wedding | Brandi & Scott
Beautiful Wedding Film featuring a Bay St. Louis venue, live band, and gorgeous florals
A wedding is essentially a party, and Brandi and Scott kept that at the forefront of our minds for their Bay St. Louis Community Hall wedding.
The couple met over Fireball shots, and paid homage to that by sharing a shot during their ceremony- this was a first for me, and I love this idea! The Bridal party got ready at The Harbor House- pictures do not do this charming Airbnb justice and it was perfect for photos. I cannot gush enough about how beautiful their wedding was, from the lush, tropical color palette to the food spreads by Taste! Catering and Personal Chef Services that were almost too gorgeous to eat. The wedding ceremony was outside under the gorgeous live oaks at the Bay St. Louis Community Hall and the beach breeze blowing through the beautifully draped fabric in the trees was absolutely magical. Norris Dates & Power Surge played for their reception inside the hall, and put on one of the most fun and engaging wedding performances I've ever seen. Throughout the entire day, Kerri and The Wedding Collection team kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes. I've had the pleasure to work with Kerri again since then, and I cannot overstate how far her planning experience and attention to detail go towards making a wedding day run flawlessly.
Beautiful décor, a fantastic live band, and one of the sweetest, most fun couples I could ever hope to meet made this wedding one to remember forever!

Storyhouse Highlight Reel 2022
The best of the best from our recent wedding films! This is a great summary of not only our style, but the moments that make us fall in love with what we do over and over again.
The best of the best from our recent wedding films! This is a great summary of not only our style, but the moments that make us fall in love with what we do over and over again.
I’m going to be completely honest with you here- I'm new to blogging in general, and I don't know how much you guys want to hear about us as opposed to the weddings we shoot. On most of these, I'll talk about a specific wedding, but this one feels a little more personal.
This new brand represents a lot for us. We have evolved in many ways over the years we've worked together- our style, our gear, techniques, pretty much everything. We've worked with a lot of wonderful couples through the years, and our goal has always been to give them the best possible photos and video from their wedding. As much as our egos would like to think that it's about us, if the couples we serve are not happy, then we've failed.
One of the biggest things that Ted and I have in common is that we never settle. We aim to never stop growing and learning, and the result is that our work for our couples gets better and better. We are both extremely competitive by nature and tend to try to one-up each other. Even though we're competitive, we know that at the end of the day, it's about making sure that we put out work that we're proud of, and more importantly, that our couples can be proud of, so we share what we learn with each other. Even with this highlight reel, we've jokingly tallied up how many shots we each have in it, but we've also complimented each others' shots, stayed on discord for hours talking through the edits, and used both of our skill sets to make it the best it can be. We apply this same balance of competition and support on wedding days- you may hear us bicker good-naturedly, but you'll also hear me say "Guys, you have to see this shot Ted just got!" or Ted's classic "DUDE! That's epic!"- the louder his DUDE is, the better the shot!
Our passion for photography and videography got us into this, and our competition with each other drives us to always be better. We want to be better not only for our own sake, but so that the couples who choose us get the best work possible, every single time- and that is what Storyhouse represents for us.
I am so incredibly proud of this highlight reel, but I also look forward to looking back on it next year, having completed a new reel, and thinking "this is nothing, look how much we grew,"
Never. Stop. Growing.
